President Zardari Condemns Israeli Aggression, Calls for Global Social Justice at Doha Conference
Doha: President Asif Ali Zardari delivered a powerful address at the Global Conference on Social Development in Doha, urging the world to unite for social justice, equality, and human dignity.
The President praised Qatar’s leadership for organizing the event and condemned Israeli aggression in Gaza, calling it a violation of humanitarian principles.
“This conference reflects our shared commitment to social justice, equality, and human dignity. We envision a world built on harmony and respect for human rights,” said President Zardari.
He emphasized that Pakistan’s vision for the future is one of inclusive and sustainable development, adding that the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has become a global model for effective social welfare.
Speaking on regional challenges, the President highlighted the importance of water security, stating that Pakistan had been threatened with the blocking of cross-border water, which violates the Indus Waters Treaty and international law.
“Water is essential for life, and denying it is against global humanitarian and legal norms,” he said.
President Zardari called for a fair, inclusive, and balanced international financial system to support developing nations in achieving social progress. He also urged the global community to revitalize multilateral institutions to ensure cooperation and peace.
“We must rise above differences and divisions and work together with compassion, justice, and a shared commitment to collective development,” he concluded.
