Jordan’s King Abdullah II to Visit Pakistan for Two-Day State Visit
Jordan’s King Abdullah II will arrive in Pakistan on Saturday for a two-day state visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. During the visit, he is expected to hold high-level meetings with the Prime Minister and President, the Foreign Office said.
This will be the King’s first visit to Pakistan since his last trip, which was at the invitation of former President Mamnoon Hussain. During that visit, the two countries signed agreements on civil protection, defence, and housing cooperation.
The Foreign Office said the visit highlights the longstanding fraternal relations between Pakistan and Jordan. It aims to strengthen political, economic, and cultural ties and expand bilateral cooperation. A special ceremony will also be held to award the King Pakistan’s highest civilian honour.
In late October, King Abdullah II praised the Pakistani military’s role in regional peace during a meeting with Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir in Jordan. He expressed his desire to further enhance defence collaboration between the two countries.
The visit is expected to further consolidate Pakistan–Jordan relations and explore new opportunities for cooperation in multiple sectors.
