GameStop is taking a bold step to engage customers this holiday season with a unique event: “Trade Anything Day.” Scheduled for December 6, 2025, shoppers are invited to visit their local GameStop stores to trade almost any item in exchange for store credit.

The promotion’s advertisement reads, “Bring Whatever Get Store Credit,” adding a playful caveat: “Some Questions Asked.” While the event encourages creativity, there are restrictions on what can and cannot be traded.

Allowed and Excluded Items

GameStop clarified that while hazardous materials, chemicals, liquids, lithium-ion batteries, weapons, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, computers, certain electronics, jewelry, sexual or explicit items, and objects resembling body parts are excluded, taxidermy items are valid for trade.

Additionally, all items must fit in a 20x20x20 measuring box, and GameStop employees retain discretion to reject any trade-ins. Small collectibles such as Funkos, figurines, game cases, and cables are encouraged for trade, provided the owner is willing to part with them for store credit.
