No One Can Take an Inch of Lebanon: Hezbollah Chief

Sheikh Nasim Qassem, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, has stated that the resistance movement will never permit the adversary, specifically the US and Israeli authorities, to seize an inch of Lebanese country.

Sheikh Nasim Qassem made the statement in a Monday broadcast speech on the occasion of the first death anniversary of Hezbollah’s media head, Mohamad Afif Nabulsi, who was slain in an Israeli strike against a building in central Beirut on November 17, 2024.

The Hezbollah Chief stated that its independence is only through tremendous sacrifices, resilience, firm stances, and imprisonment, adding that they will not allow an inch of the Lebanese soil to be divided or seized.
He said that the resistance front has been tasked with the expulsion of occupiers, and its raids are purposed at battling the usurping Israeli enemy.

However, the resistance organization president observed that the movement enjoys the endorsement received from the major section of Lebanese society along with various political factions, saying, “No one in Lebanon would like Israel to tamper with the country as it wishes.”

Moreover, the Hezbollah head further added that today there is a great deal of pressure, but enemies will not succeed in the face of our resilience; we will withstand the pressure in this period, and we don’t accept becoming slaves to anyone.

Continuing, “The strength of our people and society is unprecedented, and this strength cannot be defeated. We want our land, captives, stability, economy, politics, and rights.”

Further adding that what is happening in Lebanon these days is an overt and naked aggression aimed at seizing control of the country and stripping it of all forms of strength it has.

In addition, he said that the Israeli strike on Monday on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) announced that no one is spared from the aggression.

He also urged the Lebanese government to use all state institutions and devise a program to counter the ongoing Israeli assaults’, stating, “The aggression is the problem, not the resistance.”

In fact, Sheikh Qassem, while addressing the Lebanese authorities, stated, “I advise you to say ‘No’ based on Lebanon’s rights. Let’s be together, and we will succeed if we stand together, and together we will liberate our land and regain the independence steps,” adding, “It is very mistaken to work as servants and advance Israeli schemes. We will not allow Lebanon to be surrendered to Israel.”

According to the Hezbollah leader, the US’s presence in Lebanon poses a significant concern due to its role as an aggressor rather than a mediator. “The US lies behind the thorny problems that Lebanon is currently facing.”

He additionally called upon the Beirut government not to make a grave by giving Israel relief to deter its aggression, urging that such unilateral steps never bring desired results.

Furthermore, he further remarked that Americans have been ravaging Lebanon since 2019 up until now, and they are majorly responsible for Lebanon’s worst economic crisis and the decline in its currency value to historic drops versus the dollar.

The Hezbollah chief responding to the new restrictions announced by the central bank stated that he advises the government, the governor of the central bank, and the relevant officials to stop the measures that are putting pressures on all Lebanese.

“Stop paralyzing parliament, because this obstruction is unjustified, and the attack on Speaker Nabih Berri is a sinful assault.” Qassem concluded by addressing political feuds.
