Nadra’s Step-by-Step Guide to Online Vehicle Ownership Transfer

The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has introduced a new digital service that allows citizens of Islamabad to transfer ownership of their registered vehicles from the comfort of their homes. This service works through Nadra’s Pak-ID mobile app and makes the whole process much easier and faster.

If you want to transfer your Islamabad-registered vehicle to someone else, you can now use the simple biometric verification system offered by Gadinsider through the Pak-ID app.

How to Transfer Car Ownership Online in 2025

• Open the Pak-ID mobile app.
• On the home screen, go to ‘Apply Digital Cards’ and choose ‘ICT Vehicle’ to see all vehicles registered in your name.
• Select the vehicle you want to transfer and tap ‘Transfer Now’, then complete ‘Verify Applicant Facial’.
• Choose the front or back camera and fit your face into the on-screen circle to take a photo.
• After facial verification, continue to ‘Verify Applicant Fingerprint’ and complete fingerprint authentication.
• Once verified, the app will show the application details screen.
• Enter the buyer’s CNIC number, choose ‘Executive’ under processing category, and check the fee.
• After submitting all details, the app will show a tracking ID and PIN code. You must share these with the buyer.

How Can the Buyer Check Vehicle Transfer Details?

• The buyer logs in to the Pak-ID app and selects ‘Vehicle Transfer under Government Services’.
• They enter the tracking ID and PIN, then confirm the information shown.
• The buyer must also complete facial and fingerprint verification.
• Once done, the seller will see the application status updated automatically.
• After approval, a ‘Pay Now’ option will appear next to the tracking ID.
• The buyer can pay through EasyPaisa, Raast, JazzCash, E-Sahulat, or debit/credit card.
• To finish the process, the buyer must submit the biometric receipt and required documents at the Excise and Taxation Office, Islamabad.
