Rapper Chicken P, also known as Rahkeib Smith, has recently been indicted on multiple charges, including r*pe and public indecency. The artist, who has faced a series of legal challenges over the years, was previously convicted in March on gun and drug charges.

On Thursday, November 27, Smith took to his Instagram to publicly address the ongoing allegations. In his statement, he asserted that he has been incarcerated on false charges and emphasized his innocence.

“I have always carried myself with respect towards women and toward everyone I interact with, both inside and outside of music. Anyone who truly knows me knows what I stand for and the principles I live by. This has been one of the hardest moments of my life, but I’m staying strong, keeping faith, and trusting that the truth will be revealed,” Smith wrote.

The 30-year-old artist also requested that the public and media verify the facts before passing judgment. He expressed gratitude toward his family and supporters, stating:

“Your strength is keeping me going every day. I look forward to proving my innocence and getting back to my music and my community as soon as possible.”

The post garnered mixed reactions online, with some netizens calling for his release and others praising his musical contributions.

Charges Linked to Previous Incident

The r*pe allegations reportedly stem from an incident in March last year in Cleveland, Ohio, where a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted. According to court documents, Rahkeib attempted to engage intimately with the victim without her consent and touched her inappropriately on one occasion.

The charges were filed earlier this month in a federal court, coming just months after Chicken P was arrested for failing a drug test, which was being conducted as part of his bail requirements for two cases from approximately three years ago.

Smith is currently held at the Dodge Correctional Institute, having been sentenced in August 2025 to six years for drug and firearms convictions.
