Security Around Adiala Jail Placed on High Alert
The government, given the current state of law and order, has put security around the Adiala Jail on high alert, and a specific security plan will be in place indefinitely.
The reports in this regard stated that a considerable police deployment has been positioned at five checkpoints along the roads leading to the jail. These checkpoints have been established at Dahghal, Jail Gate-1, Factory Naka, and Gorakpur, where police officers will be stationed.
Police personnel will work 12-hour shifts, with SHOs from 12 police stations, female officers, and additional staff deployed for security. Over 700 personnel from the RMP force, Punjab Constabulary, and local police stations have been assigned to the operation.
However, security personnel will be armed with rubber bullets, tear gas, batons, shields, and anti-riot gear, as 10 traffic police officers and personnel have been deployed, with lifters and prisoner vans remaining on standby.
In light of maintaining law and order in jail surroundings, Anam Sher, Superintendent of Police (SP), will directly supervise the security operations.
Furthermore, SHOs and police officers from Gujar Khan, Mandrah, Kahuta, Kallar Syedan, and Dhamial stations will remain on duty, as will those from Chakri, Rawat, Chonta, Women Police Station, Morgah, Cantt, and Saddar Barooni.
It is pertinent to note that the deployed contingents, in a nutshell, would be led by a total of twenty-three inspectors.
