13 Israeli Soldiers Wounded in Overnight Raid on Syrian Village
13 Israeli troops were wounded during an overnight raid into the Syrian village of Beit Jinn, located in the Damascus countryside, on Friday.
The Israeli media agencies reportedly claimed that three of the thirteen injured were badly wounded in conflicts with residents. The reports said that three Israeli soldiers were gravely injured during the overnight operation when Israeli occupation forces sought to detain, kidnap, and abduct numerous men from Beit Jinn, claiming to be Islamic Group affiliates.
The 55th Paratroopers Brigade of the 98th Elite Division raided Beit Jinn, within a few hundred meters from the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) zone. Residents opened fire, causing them to retreat during their attempt to detain some individuals.
However, an Israeli Humvee used in the assaults was eventually abandoned. The Israeli media sources revealed that the Israeli Air Force then raided the region, bombing the abandoned vehicle. Among the three critically wounded men were two 55th Brigade officers.
Israeli occupation forces claimed to have apprehended three people during the operation, but the resulting conflicts and Israeli strikes murdered at least 13 people and 25 others in the Syrian community. As per the Syrian News channel, some people are still trapped under the wreckage from the bombardment.
