Lakki Marwat Suicide Blast: 1 cop martyred, 6 injured

At least one police officer was martyred and six others injured in a suicide blast in Lakki Marwat district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Monday.

According to police, the suicide bomber, along with an accomplice, was standing by the roadside in the Bakhmal Ahmadzai area. The bomber detonated himself as a police mobile drove past. The accomplice escaped, and a search operation is ongoing to catch him.

Police said the attackers arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire on the officials before the suicide explosion. The responding police personnel acted bravely, preventing further destruction in the area.

The injured and the deceased were shifted to the hospital by rescue teams.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the terrorist attack. In a statement, he prayed for eternal peace for the deceased and wished strength and patience for the bereaved families.

He also directed authorities to provide immediate medical assistance to the injured and reaffirmed the government’s resolve to eliminate terrorists and prevent their attacks.
