Govt announces public holidays for 25 and 26 December 2025
Pakistan recently observed a public holiday on November 9 for the birth anniversary of the national poet, Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

Upcoming Quaid Day Holiday
Pakistani citizens will celebrate Quaid Day on December 25 (Thursday). This day marks the 149th birthday of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Father of the Nation.
Born in 1876 in Karachi, Muhammad Ali Jinnah was a lawyer and politician who led the movement for a separate homeland for Muslims of the subcontinent. He served as the leader of the All-India Muslim League from 1913 until Pakistan’s independence and then became Pakistan’s first Governor-General until his death in 1948.
Quaid-e-Azam played a key role in convincing British authorities and leaders of the Indian National Congress, like Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, to agree to the partition of British India into Pakistan and India in 1947. After the All India Muslim League won most reserved Muslim seats in the 1946 elections, the Indian Independence Act was passed by the British Parliament on July 18, 1947.
December 25 is a day for the nation to honor his contributions and renew the commitment to the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
