Israeli Army Facing Worst Crisis in History: Retired Israeli General

Retired Israeli military General Yitzhak Brik has disclosed that the Israeli occupation army is going through the worst humanitarian crisis in its history, bringing its entire system close to collapse.

Israeli newspaper Ma’ariv’s article claimed that the retired general wrote that in the past few months, thousands of officers have either refused to obey orders or refused to renew their contracts, adding that the current command system of the Israeli army is facing the most difficult situation since the establishment of Israel.

The former general further added that young people are not interested in regular service in the Israeli army, and the quality of the forces is also rapidly declining; even skilled and experienced commanders are not willing to stay in the army for long periods of time.

The Israeli media in this regard reportedly claimed that hundreds of professional military personnel have submitted applications for early retirement in the past month.

The military’s personnel directorate briefed the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Friday, stating that about 600 career officers are resigning early, most of them officers up to the rank of lieutenant colonel, further revealing that 85% of the retiring officers held the rank of lieutenant colonel or lower.

The ex-general warned that if this situation persists, the Israeli army’s combat readiness, discipline, and command system will be severely damaged, which could cause a strategic crisis in the future.
