Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Calls Defence Forces HQ a Historic Reform

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, addressed officers of the Pakistan Army, Navy and Air Force, highlighting the historic significance of the newly established Defence Forces Headquarters. He said the structural change marked “a fundamental and historic transformation” in Pakistan’s defence framework.

Speaking on evolving strategic challenges, the Field Marshal said that, given the growing and changing nature of threats, it was essential to further enhance multi-domain operations under a unified system. He added that the establishment of the Defence Forces Headquarters was a crucial step toward this transformation.

The Field Marshal emphasized that while each service would maintain its own uniqueness and operational preparedness, the Defence Forces Headquarters would be responsible for coordinating and synchronizing joint operations across all services. He noted that despite the unity of high command, the three forces would continue to uphold their internal autonomy and organizational structures.

Addressing regional security concerns, the Field Marshal warned that India “should not fall victim to any self-deception or assumptions,” adding that any future provocation would be met with a “swifter and more severe response” from Pakistan.

He also reiterated Pakistan’s firm stance toward the Taliban regime, stating that a clear message had been delivered: they must choose between the “Fitna Al Khawarij” or Pakistan, with no middle ground.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed that Pakistan is a peace-loving nation but would not allow anyone to threaten its sovereignty, territorial integrity, or test the resolve of its people and armed forces. He stressed that the concept of Pakistan is invincible, protected by “faith-filled warriors” and the unwavering determination of a united nation.
