Ikhtiar Wali Khan Accuses PTI of Destabilizing the Country
Islamabad: Prime Minister’s Coordinator, Ikhtiar Wali Khan, addressed a press conference in Islamabad, accusing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of pursuing an agenda aimed at destabilizing the country. He said that attempts were being made to spread sedition under the guise of protest and that the party’s actions were harming national unity.
Ikhtiar Wali stated that PTI was trying to have a prisoner detained in Adiala Jail transferred to another province, which he claimed was part of a larger plan to create unrest. He added that such moves were an attack on the country’s dignity and progress. Referring to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, he described him as an ineffective and “poor” administrator.
The Prime Minister’s Coordinator stressed that PTI should refrain from involving the army in political matters. He reiterated that the party’s activities were aimed at generating instability and obstructing national development. According to him, PTI had made life difficult for residents living near Adiala Road and was determined to stage a “spectacle” outside Adiala Jail.
Ikhtiar Wali also criticized PTI for misleading the country’s youth, claiming the party had “seduced” young people into participating in disruptive activities. He added that no political entity was interested in holding dialogue with PTI due to its confrontational approach.
Commenting on Pakistan’s foreign relations, Ikhtiar Wali affirmed that Pakistan stood firmly with Iran and Qatar in times of difficulty, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening ties with friendly nations.
