New York, December — Bronx rapper Kay Flock, real name Kevin Perez, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after being convicted of racketeering conspiracy and attempted murder. His conviction stems from multiple gang-related shootings in the Bronx between 2020 and 2021.

Kay Flock Arrest and Charges

Kay Flock was arrested in 2021 following the shooting death of Hwascar Hernandez near a Harlem barbershop. In 2023, he was indicted for racketeering conspiracy as the alleged leader of the Bronx gang Sev Side, also known as DOA.

In March 2025, a jury found him guilty of racketeering conspiracy, attempted murder, and possession of a firearm, while he was acquitted of murder charges.

Acting U.S. Attorney Matthew Podolsky said Perez used his music to glorify violence and instill fear in the community. He stated that the conviction holds Flock accountable for his crimes.

Judge Lewis J. Liman sentenced Kay Flock to 30 years. The rapper told the judge he has changed since the incidents and claimed, “What I was at 18 is not what I am today… I was just a kid. Didn’t really know better.”

The judge, however, cited Flock’s social media posts that celebrated violence and said he had shown little remorse for his actions.
