Illegal Afghan Infiltration Emerging as Major Regional Security Threat

Illegal Afghan infiltration is becoming a serious threat to the internal security of the countries of the region.

Many countries of the world are being forced to take extreme measures against terrorism spreading from Afghan soil.

According to a report by Iran International, several Afghan citizens died on the Iranian border while illegally crossing the border during the severe cold.

According to an Iranian journal, the bodies of 15 Afghan refugees were transferred to Kohsan and Adarshan districts after they were killed on the Iranian border.

Iranian media further added that a total of 40 deaths and several missing refugees were reported on the Iran-Afghanistan border. The Afghans were trying to illegally enter the city through the Islam Qala route.

A senior Iranian border commander says that Afghan attempts to illegally enter Iran have doubled by October this year compared to last year.

The Iranian commander said that more than 1.6 million Afghan refugees and asylum seekers have been expelled from Iran so far this year.
