Pakistan Issues Demarche to UK Acting High Commissioner Over Bradford Protest

Pakistan has issued a formal démarche to the United Kingdom’s acting high commissioner, sources confirmed on Friday, following a protest held outside the Pakistani Consulate in Bradford.

According to diplomatic sources, the démarche was issued over serious concerns regarding the protest, during which extremely inflammatory and objectionable language was used against Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir.

Sources revealed that the official social media account of a political party based in the UK was used to mobilize and gather protesters for the demonstration. The protestors allegedly made remarks that went beyond political expression and amounted to incitement and threats.

Pakistani authorities have conveyed their strong protest to UK officials, stressing that such actions are unacceptable and violate diplomatic norms. The matter has been raised at the diplomatic level to ensure that British soil is not misused for activities that promote hatred or violence against Pakistan’s state institutions.

Officials said Pakistan expects the UK authorities to take the issue seriously and ensure appropriate action in line with the law.
