Young Pakistani Racer Ahsan Yaseen Wins Prestigious Camel Racing Title in Sharjah

Pakistani camel racer Ahsan Yaseen has delivered a historic performance at the 54th Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Camel Racing Festival in Sharjah, claiming a major international title.

The 18-year-old clinched first place in the prestigious race, earning the Golden Camel Trophy along with a cash prize of 50,000 dirhams. Starting the two-kilometre race from sixth position, Yaseen steadily overtook his competitors to cross the finish line in first place.

Currently pursuing an engineering degree in Dubai, Yaseen completed the race in an impressive three minutes and 47 seconds, impressing both local and international spectators with his skill and determination.

Yaseen trains at the Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Centre and regularly participates in competitions across the UAE and other countries. Reflecting on his victory, he said, “Camel racing is usually seen as a sport of the Arab world, but winning this race for Pakistan is an indescribable feeling for me.”

His achievement has been widely celebrated as a proud moment for Pakistan, highlighting the growing presence of Pakistani athletes in traditional regional sports and bringing international recognition to the country in a field often dominated by Arab competitors.
