Iran Trying to Restore Nuclear, Missile Programs: Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has threatened Iran with “terrible consequences” in response to what he says are Tehran’s efforts to re-establish its nuclear and ballistic capabilities.

“Iran is trying to rebuild its nuclear capabilities in places where the bombings were not carried out, and it also wants to restore its ability to build ballistic missiles,” Benjamin Netanyahu said in an interview with Fox News.

The Israeli prime minister added, “Two weeks ago I was presented with information about military exercises that included the firing of ballistic missiles, and I said at the time that the consequences of this act would be very dire.”

Discussing the situation in Gaza, he pointed out that “Hamas promised to be neutral, but it still has 60,000 guns.”

He added that “the formation of a new government in the Gaza Strip is possible, but for this to happen, the end of Hamas is necessary.”

Regarding the Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip during the ceasefire and the US position on it, Benjamin Netanyahu said, “President Trump and I were in complete harmony … and I did not hear any complaints from him about our attacks during the ceasefire.”

Regarding the situation in the West Bank, Benjamin Netanyahu said, “About 70 boys come from demolished houses and uproot olive trees. This is exaggerated, and I am making special efforts to stop it, but there is no comparison between these (boys) and the nearly 1,000 terrorist attacks against settlers. We want to build infrastructure for ourselves and the Palestinians, but we have to maintain military control in the area.”
