Gold prices surge in Pakistan – Jan 02, 2025: Check new rates

Gold prices went up sharply in Pakistan on Friday, January 2, 2026, following gains in the international market, the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association said.

The price of 24-karat gold per tola increased by Rs5,700 to Rs460,262. Similarly, 10 grams of 24-karat gold rose by Rs4,887 to Rs394,600. For 22-karat gold, 10 grams went up by Rs4,480 to Rs361,729.

Globally, gold also saw a rise, gaining $57 to reach $4,379 per ounce.

Silver prices moved up as well. The price of 24-karat silver per tola increased by Rs227 to Rs7,862, and 10 grams of silver went up by Rs195 to Rs6,740. On the international market, silver rose by $2.27 to $73.87 per ounce.

The association said local gold prices are linked to interbank exchange rates and can change quickly due to global market trends.

While the rise worries regular buyers, investors see it as a safe way to protect their money against economic uncertainty and currency changes.
