Customs Seizes Smuggled Drugs and Goods Worth Over Rs515 Million in Mastung Operations
Customs Enforcement Quetta has confiscated smuggled goods and a large quantity of narcotics worth Rs515.3 million during intelligence-based operations (IBOs) carried out in the Mastung and Manikhar areas.
According to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the seized consignments included foreign-made drugs, primarily hashish, along with China salt, cigarettes, and various electronic items.
Customs Enforcement Quetta stated, “These seizures of illegal goods were conducted based on credible intelligence, reflecting the proactive strategy of Customs Enforcement Quetta.”
The statement further added, “These operations highlight Pakistan Customs’ commitment to preventing smuggling, curbing illegal trade, and protecting the national economy. Timely support and effective coordination with law enforcement agencies in Balochistan played a crucial role in the successful execution of these operations.”
In a separate development on the same day, the FBR reported that Pakistan Customs at Jinnah International Airport (JIA), Karachi, successfully thwarted two separate smuggling attempts involving gold and undeclared foreign currency during passenger clearance at the international departure terminal.
Officials recovered 10 STB gold bars weighing 100 tolas and foreign currency worth $11,900. According to the FBR, the combined value of both cases is estimated at approximately Rs568.2 million.
