Hande Ercel Responds to Viral SRK ‘Uncle’ Video: ‘This Is Fake’

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently attended the Joy Awards 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he presented an award at the star-studded event. Several photos and videos from the ceremony went viral on social media.

One particular video grabbed major attention, showing popular Turkish actress Hande Erçel recording a clip while Shah Rukh Khan was on stage. Egyptian actress Amina Khalil and Shah Rukh Khan were sharing the stage, and Hande was seen filming the moment on her mobile phone. The video quickly spread across social media and SRK fan pages, with claims circulating that Hande was an SRK “fangirl.”

The clip was later shared on Instagram, further increasing excitement among Shah Rukh Khan’s fans. However, a screenshot of Hande’s post soon went viral, carrying the caption: “Who is this uncle? I was just filming my friend @aminakhalilofficial. I am not his fan!! Please stop spreading false information!!”

Hande later clarified that she was filming her friend Amina Khalil, who was sharing the stage with Shah Rukh Khan, and not the Bollywood superstar himself. She wrote on her Instagram Story, “Who is this uncle? I was just filming my friend. I am not his fan. Please stop spreading false information.”

Following her clarification, many SRK fans praised Hande Erçel. One user wrote, “From Shah Rukh Khan fans, I thank you for clarifying this. SRK haters use everyone and everything to spread lies about him to insult him. Thank you for stepping in and putting a stop to this hate campaign. Also, I apologize for the discomfort this has caused you.”

Another commented, “We will always be here to defend you. I’m so sorry you have to go through this,” while a third added, “Respect to Hande Erçel for calling out fake narratives.”
