Famous Pakistani Poet Aitbar Sajid Passes Away at 77 in Lahore

Lahore, January 27, 2026: Renowned Urdu poet Aitbar Sajid has passed away in Lahore at the age of 77 after a long illness.

Family sources confirmed that the poet had been suffering from kidney-related health issues for some time. He breathed his last on Tuesday morning.

Aitbar Sajid was born on July 1, 1948, in Multan. He was widely known for his romantic poetry and emotional ghazals that touched the hearts of readers across Pakistan.

A Poet of Love and Separation

Aitbar Sajid was considered one of the most popular modern Urdu poets. His poetry mainly focused on love, separation, longing, and emotional pain.
