Wedding Bus Overturns in Lodhran, Four Dead, 28 Injured
LODHRAN: A bus carrying wedding guests collapsed after colliding with a truck in the Mandhali Mor region of Punjab’s Lodhran district, leaving four people dead and 28 injured on Sunday.
Four individuals were immediately killed when a “high-speed coaster carrying members of a wedding procession overturned while crossing in front of an overloaded truck,” according to a statement from Rescue 1122 Lodhran.
It further stated that two men, a woman, and a child were among the dead.
Another 28 people were hurt, 27 of them had “severe” injuries and were taken to the Lodhran District Hospital, while another received immediate medical attention, according to Rescue 1122.
In a separate statement, Lodhran District Police Officer (DPO) Ali bin Tariq’s office stated that he arrived at the scene of the incident right away after learning about it.
According to DPO Tariq, “legal action will be taken against those responsible, and the reasons behind the accident are being determined.”
A vehicle slid into a dry canal in Punjab’s Sargodha district last month, and a coach toppled close to Balochistan’s Ormara tehsil, resulting in at least 24 fatalities and more than 20 injuries on the same day.
A few days later, poor visibility brought on by thick fog between Nankana Sahib and Sialkot resulted in two distinct road accidents that claimed the lives of five people, including a school-age child.
