Princess Kate Visits “Meghan Markle Effect” Welsh Brand

The Princess of Wales’s ongoing royal duty is the next visit to Hiut Denim on Tuesday, Feb 3. It’s the finest jeans manufacturer, based in Cardigan. It boosted international attention after Meghan Markle wore their jeans.

The visit was confirmed last week by Kensington Palace. According to the Princess of Wales’ planned trip, the family-run business will be taking on more duties to highlight the local brands and talent.

The Welsh brand grasps a prominent place in recent royal fashion history, having been driven into the global spotlight in 2018 when Meghan Markle chose Hiut’s high-waisted Dina skinny jeans for an official visit to Cardiff alongside Prince Harry.

After the invasion of orders that came in, the cofounder credited the successful business to the Meghan Markle effect.’

David told People Magazine at the time, “In the next four weeks, we are moving into a factory that’s three times the size, and we’ve hired eight new people—the Meghan Markle Effect is real!”

On 3 Feb, Tuesday, Princess Catherine visited a manufacturer in the UK to focus on all the denim product designs, their sustainability, and traditional craftsmanship.

Meghan Markle stepped back from her royal duty in the U.K. and moved to the U.S. with Prince Harry. In April 2025, Meghan appeared on the show The Jamie Kern Lima Show and spoke about the style she uses. Meghan’s main mission is to choose her style to promote small brands.

“It makes me feel really great when, specifically, it can help uplift brands that have a great ethos and female founders. You know, there was a long time when I wasn’t out talking. So if you couldn’t hear me, how could I be heard through what I was wearing, if that was what people were focusing on?” the Duchess of Sussex said when asked about her thoughts on the “Meghan effect.”

“Or the choices I was making, that you didn’t have to say a word, but it would move product for small companies,” she added.

Earlier, it was reported that the Palace wants to use the Prince and Princess of Wales to compete with the Sussexes in the US. Now, it is possible that the royals are being used to lead the places that were once linked with the Duchess of Sussex.
