The punishment given to K-Electric CEO Moonis Alvi in a case involving workplace harassment was previously overturned by Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori, giving the top executive of the power company significant comfort.
K-Electric informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) that the governor has revoked the contested ruling against Moonis Alvi that the Provincial Ombudsman of Sindh had issued.
The corporation claims that after considering the pertinent documentation and hearing arguments from the parties involved, the governor made the judgment in the exercise of authority granted by Section 9 of the Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act, 2010.
According to the company’s statement, “The Governor of Sindh has set aside the impugned order passed by the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh.”
