Waqar Zaka Wins Global Crypto Trading Competition Amid Market Crash

Pakistani social media personality and crypto trader Waqar Zaka has won first place in the annual global trading competition hosted by international crypto exchange WEEX. He outperformed more than 3,500 professional traders from countries including Korea, Japan, China, the United States, and Europe.

Last year, Zaka finished 8th in the same competition. This year, he made a remarkable comeback by topping the leaderboard.

Competition Amid Severe Market Crash

The tournament ran from February 2 to February 4, during one of the most severe crypto market crashes of the year. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other major cryptocurrencies fell sharply, with some losing more than 20% in a single day. Billions of dollars were wiped out globally. Thousands of traders closed their positions to avoid further losses. Volatility and liquidations reached record highs.

Trading in such conditions is extremely risky. Making a profit during this period was considered highly unlikely.

Turned $100,000 Into $531,000

Despite the harsh market conditions, WEEX confirmed that Waqar Zaka started with $100,000 of his own capital. He traded live throughout the crash and increased his capital to $531,000 in 48 hours. Zaka was awarded the title of Top Live Trader of WEEX 2026.

WEEX praised his performance, stating:

Early Promoter of Cryptocurrency in Pakistan

Waqar Zaka has been active in the crypto space in Pakistan for many years. He introduced cryptocurrency to the Pakistani public in 2015 when Bitcoin was priced around $260 (PKR 25,000) through an educational YouTube video. He also used Bitcoin for direct humanitarian support to refugees in Burma and Syria. In 2017, Zaka introduced live trading in Pakistan, publicly announcing trades to promote transparency.

Zaka’s win has been widely celebrated on social media. Many called it a rare international achievement for Pakistan in the field of crypto trading. His success highlights Pakistan’s growing talent in the digital and tech sectors.
