Apple iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max Leaks: Major Upgrades Expected
A new leak suggests that Apple is planning its biggest hardware upgrade in years. The upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to bring five major changes that could transform Apple’s premium lineup later this year.
Front Design
The Dynamic Island may become smaller, and the flood illuminator used for Face ID could move under the display. This would give the screen a cleaner and more immersive look.
Camera Upgrades
On the back, the 48MP main camera may get a variable aperture, allowing more control over light. This could improve low-light photography and depth effects in photos.
New Chips
Both devices are expected to use the A20 Pro chip, made with TSMC’s first-generation 2nm process. A new chip packaging design may make the phones faster and more energy-efficient.
Wireless Improvements
Apple may replace the current N1 chip with a new N2 chip, which could improve Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Thread connectivity while using less power.
Modem Changes
The C2 modem may come to the iPhone 18 Pro models, marking the first time Apple’s in-house modem could be used in the mainstream Pro lineup. Previous modems, C1 and C1X, were limited to smaller devices.
If the leak is correct, Apple will likely launch the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max in September. The iPhone Fold may also appear at the same event, while the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e could arrive next spring.
These updates suggest big improvements in design, performance, and connectivity for Apple’s next-generation iPhones.
