Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has officially launched the PM Ramadan Relief Package 2026 worth Rs38 billion. This package will help more than 12 million families through a digital payment system.

The prime minister said the old system of distributing goods was slow, often gave poor-quality items, and forced people to wait in long lines. Last year, the government switched to a cashless digital system, giving direct payments to families. A third-party audit confirmed the system was transparent and corruption-free.

This year, the assistance has been increased. Each eligible family will receive Rs13,000, up from Rs5,000 last year. The Rs38 billion will be sent through digital wallets and banking channels across Pakistan, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Minister for Poverty Alleviation Syed Imran Ahmad Shah said Rs13,000 will go to each eligible family, with an extra Rs10 billion for those already in the system.

The BISP Secretary Aamer Ali Ahmad called it a historic relief initiative showing compassion in the spirit of Ramadan.

Beneficiaries can register online or via SMS to easily receive the assistance.
