Ikhtiar Wali Says PTI Has No Right to Block Roads

14 February, 2026 18:03

NOWSHERA: The Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Information, Ikhtiar Wali, stated that the federal government will take all necessary measures to alleviate the difficulties citizens are facing due to road closures initiated by the PTI. Speaking to the media, Wali asserted that the PTI has no legal right to block roads for “illegal demands” and called for the immediate reopening of all transit routes. He issued a warning that if the roads are not cleared by tomorrow, he would call upon the public to open them themselves.

Addressing concerns regarding the PTI founder’s health, Wali maintained that the government is providing all necessary medical facilities. He added that if the PTI wishes to send their founder abroad for treatment, they should submit a formal application.

Furthermore, Wali claimed that the PTI founder has been seeking an “NRO” (administrative relief) since November 2024. He alleged that while the PTI made several efforts to secure a deal, the federal government consistently refused to entertain such an arrangement. According to Wali, an agreement was nearly reached on November 25, 2024, but it failed to materialize. He cited Sher Afzal Marwat’s statements as confirmation and suggested that Barrister Saif and Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, as witnesses to the 2024 discussions, should be questioned for further details.
