Bannu Explosion Outside Miryan Police Station Kills 2 Including Child, Over 20 Injured

Bannu, February 16, 2026: A deadly IED explosion outside the main gate of Miryan Police Station in Bannu has claimed the lives of two people, including a child, while injuring at least 20 others.

According to police, terrorists rammed an explosive-laden Zaranj rickshaw into the main gate of the police station. Additionally, an IED was planted in a motorcycle parked in front of nearby shops.

At the time of the explosion, several shops were open near the police station, which resulted in ordinary civilians being caught in the blast.

DIG Bannu, Sajjad Khan, confirmed that police personnel were unharmed in the incident. However, two civilians, including a child, were killed. The injured were immediately taken to nearby hospitals where emergency services have been activated.

Security forces and police have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation to track the perpetrators involved in the attack. Local authorities are examining the site and collecting evidence to prevent further incidents.
