How Pakistanis Can Apply for UK eVisa – Watch Full Video Guide

ISLAMABAD – The United Kingdom has launched a new eVisa system for Pakistanis, including tourists. Under this system, applicants will receive confirmation online rather than stickers in their passports.

Visitors will still submit their applications online and visit a visa application centre to provide biometrics, the British High Commission said in an official press release.

“Successful applicants will have a digital record of their immigration status provided through an eVisa, accessible through an online UK Visas and Immigration account,” the release added.

This means applicants no longer need to visit the visa centre a second time to collect their passport. They can keep their passport after completing the biometrics session.

The eVisa system is more secure, reducing the risk of lost or damaged documents. Applicants can generate a share code to prove their visa status at borders or other locations. There are no changes to visa processing times, eligibility criteria, or visa conditions.

Jane Marriott CMG OBE, the UK High Commissioner, said: “This is a hugely exciting step for Pakistanis visiting the UK for tourism, visiting loved ones, or business meetings, that removes a big step from the application process. As well as being able to save time by holding on to your passport, the new share code system makes it easier than ever to demonstrate your visa status.”

The British embassy has also shared an official video showing how the new eVisa system works.

Applicants are strongly advised to apply directly on gov.uk and avoid using visa agents, as it is the only trusted source of information.
