Pakistan Navy Seizes Narcotics Worth $750 Million in Arabian Sea Operation

KARACHI: Pakistan Navy ships HUNAIN and YARMOOK have seized more than 2,800 kilograms of narcotics worth approximately $750 million during a joint counter-narcotics operation in the Arabian Sea.

The operation was conducted during a routine maritime patrol, when the naval ships intercepted a suspicious boat.

A boarding team searched the vessel and recovered a large quantity of narcotics concealed in hidden compartments.

The seizure represents a significant success in Pakistan Navy’s efforts to prevent the trafficking of illegal drugs through maritime routes.

The operation also highlights the role of Pakistan Navy patrols in monitoring suspicious activity and maintaining security in the Arabian Sea.

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, NI, NI (M), T Bt, commended the officers and crew of the participating ships for their professionalism, vigilance and effective execution of the operation.

He reaffirmed Pakistan Navy’s commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s maritime interests and combating illicit trafficking at sea.

The successful seizure demonstrates the importance of coordinated maritime surveillance and counter-narcotics operations in preventing illegal activities in the region.
