Pakistan Crushes Afghan Aggression: 27 Taliban Posts Destroyed in Powerful Counter-Attack

Tensions flared dramatically along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border overnight as Pakistan launched a powerful and decisive response to what officials described as unprovoked aggression from the Afghan Taliban regime.
Security sources said the Pakistan Air Force entered the arena with precision air strikes, destroying a major ammunition depot in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province. The strikes marked a significant escalation after repeated cross-border attacks on Pakistani positions.
According to a senior government official, at least 133 personnel linked to the Afghan Taliban regime were killed in retaliatory action, while more than 200 others were wounded. The response came after what Pakistan termed blatant and unjustified attacks on its border posts.
Security forces launched “Operation Ghazab-lil-Haqq” to neutralise threats and safeguard national sovereignty. Officials said the operation reflects Pakistan’s firm stance against any violation of its territorial integrity.
Counter-Strikes Intensify
Providing an update at 3:45am, Prime Minister’s spokesperson for foreign media Mosharraf Zaidi confirmed that counter-strikes were ongoing and specifically targeting militant infrastructure across Afghanistan.
He stated that Pakistani forces destroyed 27 Taliban posts and captured nine others, signalling a major tactical advantage on the ground. Further casualties were reported across key militant positions in Kabul, Paktia, and Kandahar.
According to Zaidi, critical infrastructure targeted in the operation included two Corps Headquarters, three Brigade Headquarters, two ammunition depots, a logistics base, three battalion headquarters, and two sector headquarters. More than 80 tanks, artillery guns, and armoured personnel carriers were reportedly destroyed.
Zaidi emphasised that Pakistan’s swift and effective response demonstrates the country’s readiness and capability to defend its borders against any form of aggression.
Earlier Strikes Delivered Heavy Blow
In an earlier update, Zaidi reported that 72 Afghan Taliban militants had been killed and over 120 injured in initial counter-strikes. Sixteen Taliban posts were destroyed and seven captured during the first phase of operations.
Key installations hit included a large ammunition depot, a battalion headquarters, and a sector headquarters. The operation also destroyed more than 36 tanks, artillery guns, and armoured personnel carriers.
Officials reiterated that no Pakistani posts were captured or damaged, underscoring what they described as the strength, preparedness, and professionalism of Pakistan’s armed forces.
Pakistan has made it clear that any aggression will be met with a decisive and proportionate response, reinforcing its resolve to protect national sovereignty and maintain stability along its western border.
