Pakistan’s Leadership Praises Armed Forces as Operation Ghazab lil-Haq Delivers Strong Blow to Taliban

Islamabad: Pakistan’s top civilian and military leadership has strongly praised the armed forces for their decisive and coordinated response against the Afghan Taliban following unprovoked cross-border attacks along the Pak-Afghan frontier.

The operation, titled Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, was launched after militants opened fire in multiple areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Chitral, Khyber, Mohmand, Kurram, and Bajaur. Officials said the swift action reflects Pakistan’s firm resolve to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In a statement shared via X, President Asif Ali Zardari emphasised that Pakistan would not compromise on peace or national security.

“Those who mistake our peace for weakness will face a strong response, and no one will be beyond reach,” the president stated, reaffirming the country’s determination to confront all forms of aggression.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also commended the professionalism and preparedness of the armed forces.

“Our forces are fully capable of crushing any aggressive ambitions. There will be no compromise on the defense of our homeland, and every act of aggression will be met with a fitting response,” the prime minister said.

He reiterated that while Pakistan remains committed to regional peace and stability, it will firmly defend its sovereignty against any threats.

Airstrikes Target Key Installations

State media reported that Pakistani forces carried out precision airstrikes targeting key Taliban installations, including brigade and corps headquarters in Kabul, Kandahar, and Paktika provinces. An ammunition depot and a logistics base in Kandahar were also destroyed during the operation.

At least 72 Afghan Taliban fighters were killed, while two Pakistani security personnel embraced martyrdom in the clashes. Authorities confirmed that multiple infiltration attempts by militants along the border were successfully thwarted.

Meanwhile, several Afghan families scheduled for repatriation have been temporarily shifted to a holding center in Landi Kotal near the Torkham border crossing due to heightened tensions.

Officials maintain that the operation remains ongoing, with security forces continuing efforts to eliminate militant threats and ensure lasting stability along the border.

The government and military leadership have made it clear: Pakistan’s commitment to peace should never be mistaken for weakness, and any aggression will be met with a firm, decisive, and comprehensive response.
