The operation aimed to dismantle militant infrastructure and significantly weaken the operational capabilities of terrorist groups.
According to Afghan sources, airstrikes hit several high-profile areas in Kabul, including Wazir Akbar Khan, Arzan Qimat, Darul Aman, Khushal Khan, and locations near Kabul International Airport. In Kunar, the districts of Marwara and Shelton were targeted, along with Taliban centers in Ghazni, Kandahar, and Gardez.
TTP Leader Noor Wali Mehsud Reportedly Killed
Unverified reports indicate that Noor Wali Mehsud, the leader of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), was present in a residence near the Presidential Palace in Kabul when it was struck by the Pakistani Air Force. If confirmed, this marks a major blow to TTP’s leadership.
In addition, the head of the Taliban’s Fidayeen Brigade and several masterminds behind suicide attacks, including Hamid Khorasani, were reportedly killed during the operation.
Pakistani Forces Target Taliban Military Complexes
Pakistani jets reportedly struck the largest Taliban military complex east of Kabul, in Pul-e-Charkhi, destroying heavy weapons, ammunition, artillery, and armored vehicles left behind by U.S. forces. Afghan Taliban sources confirm the airstrikes caused “irreparable damage” to Taliban’s combat capacity.
Key Afghan government buildings, including the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and main security bases, were also reportedly targeted, causing confusion among Taliban leadership.
Taliban Infighting Erupts
Following the strikes, Taliban factions reportedly began fighting among themselves. Intense gunfire was reported around the Presidential Palace and the Ministry of Defense as Kandahari and Kabuli Taliban groups clashed over control.

At Torkham border, Pakistani forces laid a tactical trap for Taliban fighters. A border post was seemingly left abandoned, but it concealed remote-controlled explosives. Around 40 Taliban fighters entered, assuming the post was empty. The explosives were detonated remotely, killing 30 militants instantly. Ten injured fighters were captured by Pakistani forces.
Pakistani military officials described the operation as a combination of precise airstrikes and smart ground tactics designed to dismantle terrorist networks while minimizing risk to civilians.
