Govt raises petrol price by Rs8, high-speed diesel by Rs5

Government Raises Petrol Price by Rs8 Per Litre From March 1
Beginning on March 1, the federal government raised the price of gasoline by Rs. 8 per litre for the following two weeks.
The Petroleum Division declared in a notification that the price of gasoline has gone up from Rs258.17 to Rs266.17 per litre.
In a similar vein, the price of diesel has increased from Rs275.7 to Rs280.86 per litre, an increase of Rs5.16.
Commuters primarily utilize gasoline in two-wheelers, rickshaws, and compact cars. The budgets of middle- and lower-middle-class households, who depend on gasoline for everyday travel, are greatly impacted by rising fuel prices.
However, a large percentage of the transportation industry depends on high-speed diesel.
Since it is primarily utilized in trucks, buses, railroads, large goods transport vehicles, and agricultural equipment including tractors, tube wells, and threshers, its price is regarded as inflationary.
One major factor driving up the cost of vegetables and other foods is the use of high-speed diesel.
