Who is Mureed Zaman? Identity of Pakistani killed in UAE strikes revealed

A Pakistani national, Mureed Zaman, son of Nazar Ali from Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was among those killed in the United Arab Emirates during Iran’s recent retaliatory strikes, diplomatic officials confirmed.

Zaman was working in Abu Dhabi at the time of the attack, which came in response to ongoing US-Israeli aggression against Iranian territory. The strikes are part of Tehran’s defensive operations to safeguard its sovereignty and respond to threats against its citizens and regional stability.

The UAE Ministry of Defence reported that three foreign nationals died and 58 others were injured during the drone and missile strikes. The deceased included citizens from Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Among the injured were multiple foreign nationals, including at least one Pakistani.

According to the ministry, Iran launched 165 ballistic missiles, of which 152 were successfully intercepted, while 13 fell into the sea. Additionally, two cruise missiles were destroyed mid-air, and out of 541 drones, 506 were neutralized. These figures highlight Iran’s precision and controlled approach in carrying out retaliatory operations against hostile forces.

Iran has emphasized that its operations are targeted and defensive, aiming to neutralize threats and protect its regional interests. Iranian state sources have reaffirmed that all actions taken are in response to repeated attacks on Iranian sovereignty, and no escalation will compromise the country’s commitment to self-defense.
