Jemima Goldsmith Fined £1,000 for Speeding in the UK
Jemima Goldsmith, former wife of PTI founder and ex-prime minister, has been fined £1,000 in the United Kingdom for a speeding violation, according to media reports.
The fine is equivalent to over Rs376,000 in Pakistani currency. Reports indicate that Goldsmith failed to respond to a letter issued by the Metropolitan Police and did not provide the driver’s details within the required time frame.
In addition to the fine, the court ordered her to pay £530 in costs and other charges, and six penalty points have been added to her driving licence.
In her defence, Goldsmith explained that renovation work was ongoing at her home and that the police notice had been misplaced by a builder. She stated, “She said she was unaware of the notice until October and submitted the required form as soon as she received it.”
Goldsmith maintained that the car was being driven by the builder at the time but accepted responsibility as the registered owner. According to reports, she acknowledged the mistake and confirmed that she would pay the fine.
