Shedding of American, Iranian blood on ‘Israel firsters’: Iran FM

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has sharply responded to remarks by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, accusing Washington of entering a conflict on behalf of Israel.

Rubio had said the United States carried out strikes on Iran after receiving intelligence suggesting US assets in the region could be targeted following an Israeli attack.

In a post on X, Araghchi rejected that claim, saying there was never any so-called Iranian threat. “Mr. Rubio admitted what we all knew: US has entered a war of choice on behalf of Israel,” he wrote.

He further claimed that responsibility for the shedding of both American and Iranian blood lies with what he described as “Israel Firsters.” Araghchi added that the American people “deserve better and should take back their country.”

The exchange comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, following recent US and Israeli strikes on Iranian targets and Iran’s retaliatory actions across the region.
