The funeral procession has started for the victims of the deadly strike that hit an elementary school in Hormozgan province during the latest Israeli-American aggression against Iran. Grieving families gathered to say their final goodbye to the children who lost their lives in the attack.

On Tuesday morning, large crowds filled the streets of Minab. People carried small coffins and photos of the young victims. Many were crying and praying as they remembered the children who died in the attack on Shajareh Tayyebeh School.

The tragedy happened three days ago when a US-Israeli strike badly damaged the school building. According to officials, 165 children were killed and nearly 100 others were injured.

After the incident, Minab’s prosecutor confirmed the number of casualties. He strongly condemned the attack, calling it “criminal” and “savage.” He also said, “Among the martyrs are also educational staff and parents of the students.”

The school building was a two-story structure used only for educational purposes. The ground floor was for boys, while the first floor was for girls. After the strike, thick smoke could be seen rising from the damaged building. Pieces of debris were scattered on nearby roads as emergency teams searched through the rubble. Many worried parents rushed to the scene, hoping for news about their children.

President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed deep sorrow over the incident. He offered condolences over the “heartbreaking tragedy following the treacherous attack that has grieved the hearts of all Iranians and free people.” He added that “this inhuman, brutal act is another dark page in the endless record of the aggressors’ crimes against this land, which will never be erased from the historical memory of our nation.”

According to the Iran’s Red Crescent Society, more than 550 people, including these victims, have been killed since the aggression began on Saturday.
