Iran’s firm response will continue as long as attacks do: Envoy

Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, has warned that Iran will continue to defend itself firmly as long as the US-Israeli aggression continues.

Speaking to reporters at the UN Security Council, Iravani said that Iran’s military actions will only target the combatant forces of hostile powers. “We do not target civilians or the interests of neighboring countries,” he added.

He emphasized that Iran is not seeking war or escalation, but will not give up its sovereignty. “While the violation persists, Iran will act swiftly and resolutely to protect itself,” he said.

Since Saturday, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian Army have carried out retaliatory attacks on US military assets in regional countries and on targets in the Israeli-occupied territories, following what Iran describes as an unprovoked war of aggression by the US and Israel.
