Founder of PTI Receives Follow-up Eye Examination; Significant Improvement in Vision, Confirms PIMS Medical Board
The administration of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) has issued a statement regarding the follow-up medical examination of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), following the second dose of intraocular injection treatment. A medical board consisting of renowned ophthalmologists carried out a detailed examination of the PTI leader’s eyes, including a comprehensive fundoscopy and optical coherence tomography (OCT) test.
According to the PIMS statement, the examination, conducted by Dr. Nadeem Qureshi and Dr. Muhammad Arif Khan, showed substantial improvement in the PTI founder’s vision. “The medical board has confirmed that there is a significant improvement in the founder’s eyesight following the second intraocular injection,” the statement read.
The board further noted that, at this stage, the PTI leader’s vision was considered satisfactory. Additionally, instructions for further treatment and care were provided to ensure the leader’s continued recovery.
In related news, a joint medical team from PIMS and Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital visited Adiala Jail to conduct a follow-up checkup. The team, which included retinal specialist Dr. Nadeem Qureshi and ophthalmologists Dr. Arif and Dr. Osal from PIMS, was equipped with advanced medical equipment to carry out the required tests.
After completing the check-up, the team provided the necessary guidance for continued medical care and returned to their respective institutions. Medical staff at the jail hospital also assisted the team during the examination.
