YouTuber Anurag Dobhal’s Last Vlog Alleges Family Harassment

YouTuber and Bigg Boss 17 contestant Anurag Dobhal claims months of mental harassment by his family in a YouTube vlog. He called it as his ‘last message’ blamed parents and siblings for torturing him over inter-caste marriage.

In the video, Anurag Dobhal announced that he is quitting YouTube, saying this will be his last vlog. He broke down in tears while sharing his struggle and explained, ‘I don’t know why I’m making this my last vlog. ‘Over the last few years, my life has changed so drastically in ways I never wanted. I never imagined that life would turn out like this.’

In his two-hour-long video, the YouTuber recalled the tough phases in his life, including being diagnosed with a brain tumour at 14, facing pressure from his family over his studies and later taking up tuition work to fulfil his dreams. He said that he has always put his parents’ needs above his own. He said he met his current wife Ritika, on social media after she messaged him nonstop for 2 to 3 years as a fan, and one day he decided to reply. Later, the couple started their relationship which lasted two years before they planned to marry but their families opposed the union.

Anurag revealed that, his parents refused to take part in the ceremony just because it was set to occur six days before his wedding was supposed to be held, which would have ultimately led to his being alone in carrying it out.

He said, “I was made to fold my hands and beg, made to touch their feet. I was forced to apologise in front of all the relatives. Dad and Mum tortured me to the extent that they said, ‘We will neither stay happy ourselves nor let you stay happy.”

His wish to marry outside the cast, his parents denied acceptance of the marriage and banded him and Ritika from entering their home. He also stated that he tried to take his own life.
