ISLAMABAD: A meeting was held at the Finance Division, chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, to monitor petroleum prices in light of the current regional situation.
During the session, officials confirmed that the country’s petroleum product reserves remain satisfactory and there is no immediate threat of a petrol or diesel shortage.
Addressing the global market’s volatility, the finance minister stated that the government is closely monitoring fluctuations and is considering alternative sources to maintain a steady energy supply. He further announced a decision to implement strict measures against hoarding and smuggling, directing OGRA and provincial authorities to maintain rigorous market oversight.
“The supply of petroleum products will be ensured at all costs,” the finance minister affirmed. The meeting also included a review of the LNG and LPG supply situation. The committee is set to submit its final recommendations to the Prime Minister tomorrow.
