University of Karachi Announces Online Morning Classes Until End of Ramadan

The University of Karachi has announced that morning classes will be conducted online during the holy month of Ramadan, according to an official notification issued on March 7, 2026.

The notification, released by the Registrar’s office, states that the decision was taken to facilitate students during Ramadan and to address transportation challenges caused by rising fuel prices. The directive will take effect from Monday, March 9, 2026, and will remain in place until the end of the month of Ramadan.

According to the notice, “Keeping in view the convenience of its students during the third ‘Asharsh’ of the sacred month of Ramadhan al Mubarak, and transportation restraints likely to be caused by the recent price hike in petroleum products, The University of Karachi has decided that all the morning classes from Monday, 09 March 2026 till end of the month of Ramadan al Mubarak will be conducted only On-line.”

The notification further states that the decision was approved by the Vice Chancellor and issued by Registrar Prof. Dr. Imran Ahmad Siddiqui.

University authorities said the move is intended to help students manage their academic schedule more comfortably during Ramadan while also reducing travel difficulties resulting from increased petroleum costs.

Students enrolled in morning programs are advised to attend their classes through the online platforms designated by their respective departments until further notice.
