Fitrana 2026: Minimum and Maximum Amounts in Lahore

LAHORE: Muslims are required to pay Fitrana, also called Zakat al-Fitr, at the end of Ramadan before performing the Eidul Fitr prayers.

The main purpose of Fitrana is to purify the fast and help those in need celebrate Eid with dignity. Every adult Muslim, as well as guardians for children or dependents, must pay Fitrana. It can be given in the form of staple foods like wheat, dates, or others, or their cash equivalent.

Fitrana ensures that less fortunate people can take part in Eid celebrations. It reflects the Islamic values of compassion, community support, and social responsibility.

Minimum and Maximum Fitrana Amounts

  • Wheat: Rs 300 per person (minimum)

  • Barley: Rs 1,050 per person

  • Dates: Rs 2,100 per person

  • Raisins: Rs 4,550 per person

  • Ajwa Dates: Rs 12,000 per person (maximum recommended)

These amounts are based on current market prices of staple food items in Lahore.
