Masoud Pezeshkian Denies Iran’s Role in Azerbaijan Airstrikes

TEHRAN — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has formally denied any Iranian involvement in the recent airstrikes on Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

During a telephone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ilham Aliyev, on Sunday, President Pezeshkian stated that the incident was not connected to Iran and pledged that Tehran would conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. President Aliyev reiterated the importance of a comprehensive inquiry into the strikes, which caused injuries and infrastructure damage in the exclave.

Official Iranian channels have emphasized that the country’s political institutions remain focused on maintaining regional stability and resolving misunderstandings through diplomatic dialogue.
