‘Don’t Let Your Lives and Taxes Be Used for Someone Else’s War’: Esmaeil Baghaei

TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei has urged American citizens not to allow themselves to become the “fuel” for a war that, he said, is being driven by interests other than their own.

In a statement, Baghaei questioned proposals to offer financial incentives to Americans in connection with the ongoing Iran war.

He referred to a report in the Jerusalem Post discussing possible financial benefits for American citizens in exchange for their participation in or support for the war.

According to Baghaei, proposals included the possibility of cancelling student loans and credit card debt for Americans.

He questioned whether US citizens would be willing to put their lives and futures at risk for a conflict being shaped by the interests of others.

Baghaei urged Americans not to allow themselves to become the “fuel” of a war and said their lives and tax money should not be used to finance a conflict that does not serve their own interests.

He said American citizens should carefully consider who benefits from the war and whether its costs are being placed on ordinary people while decisions are being made elsewhere.

The Iranian spokesman’s remarks come amid continued tensions between Iran and the United States, with both sides engaged in an increasingly intense political and military confrontation.
