11 March, 2026 07:41

The Government of Sindh has announced a public holiday across the province on the occasion of Youm-e-Quds. The decision was made after successful discussions between provincial authorities and Tehreek Azadi‑e‑Quds organizers.

Officials confirmed that government offices and many public institutions will remain closed to mark the day, which is observed in support of the Palestinian cause.

Talks Between Government and Organizers Reach Agreement

Representatives of Tehreek Azadi-e-Quds said that their meetings with the provincial government and local administration were positive and constructive.

According to the organization’s spokesperson, both sides reached an agreement regarding arrangements for the annual Youm-e-Quds activities.

The spokesperson also welcomed the Sindh government’s decision to declare a public holiday. He said the announcement reflects the importance of the day for many people in the province.

Quds Rally Route Changed in Karachi

Organizers also confirmed that the main Youm-e-Quds rally in Karachi will now be held on M. A. Jinnah Road.

Earlier plans suggested the rally would take place on Shahrah‑e‑Faisal. However, after consultations with the administration, the route was changed.

Authorities said the updated location will help manage security and traffic arrangements more effectively.

Administration Promises Full Cooperation

Officials from the local administration assured organizers that they will provide full support and coordination during the events.

Security and traffic management plans are expected to be implemented to ensure that the rally and other activities take place peacefully.

The spokesperson for Tehreek Azadi-e-Quds said the administration’s cooperation will help maintain order during the gatherings.

Observance of Youm-e-Quds

Youm-e-Quds is observed every year on the last Friday of Ramadan in many parts of the world.

In Pakistan, rallies, seminars, and public gatherings are often held to express solidarity with the people of Palestine.

This year, the provincial government’s decision to declare a holiday is expected to allow more people to participate in events organized across Sindh.

Authorities have advised citizens to follow official instructions regarding traffic and security during the rallies.
