Iran Confirms Martyrdom of Dr. Ali Larijani and Son in Strike
In the ongoing American-Israeli war against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) of Iran has become a martyr.
The SNSC Secretariat declared the martyrdom of Ali Larijani, his son Mortaza, Alireza Bayat, the Secretariat’s deputy for security, and several of their bodyguards in a statement released late on Tuesday.
According to the statement, martyrdom was Dr. Larijani’s “long-held dream,” realized after a lifetime of battle for the nation’s progress and the Islamic Revolution.
It highlighted the slain official’s persistent efforts “up until the very final moments of his blessed life” to realize the nation’s highest interests and his constant counsel for the populace and their leaders to maintain their unity in the face of the nation’s enemies.
The Secretariat further stated that the martyrdom would make the country and its authorities even more determined to continue strengthening the Islamic Republic’s position.
Larijani was also a key counselor to Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution, and a member of Iran’s Expediency Council.
In addition, he held the position of speaker of the Majlis (Iran’s Parliament) for 12 years before Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf, the current top lawmaker, took his place.
He led Iran’s national broadcaster and participated in the nation’s presidential elections over his long political career.
